Raymond Liao started his career as a CPA at PwC, but quickly realised he wanted more than spreadsheets and tax returns. He moved into banking, where he spent six years helping people with everything from personal loans to home lending. That’s where he found his passion: solving real problems and building real relationships.
In 2021, Raymond launched Tiger Mortgage with one goal—make finance feel easier, clearer and more personal.
Why did you start Tiger Mortgage?
Because I wanted to do things differently. I’d seen too many clients treated like numbers. I wanted to bring structure and strategy to every loan application—that’s what we’ve built with Tiger.
But I also stay with you beyond settlement, reviewing your loans and checking in to make sure you’re always getting a great deal.
Who do you help?
I work with professionals, medical clients, business owners, residential borrowers… Some are buying a home, others growing a business or investing through super. Whatever you need as a new client, I take the time to understand your goals before offering any solutions.

I bring together my CPA background and banking experience to structure deals the right way.

What’s your favourite part of the job?
Helping people solve problems. There’s nothing better than when a client refers their family, friends or colleagues—even though I don’t pay referral fees. It just means they trusted me enough to send someone they care about. That means everything.
